Description
Operates several parks comprised of community parks, neighborhood parks, play lots and playgrounds, passive parks and linear parks. Recreational facilities include outdoor and indoor swimming pools, softball diamonds, football fields and soccer fields, racquet and fitness clubs, tennis clubs, golfing facilities, ice skating rinks and picnic areas, community centers (each with gymnasium and meeting rooms), walk/bike path and a boating lake, a driving range, a cultural arts center, historical museum, senior center, and other services. Provides a full range of activities and services year round. Major recreation programs include athletics, fitness, music, arts and crafts, performing arts, preschools, before and afterschool programs, museum programs, swimming, tennis, senior programs, day camps, special events, trips, and others. Fees for Arlington Heights residents are lower than fees for non-residents. The Park District also offers a scholarship program for people who cannot afford the program.
