Ages: 8 weeks - 5 years
Child care programs help youngsters gain self-confidence and social skills while developing positive attitudes about school and learning. Our programs are state-licensed and allow parents to go to work with peace of mind knowing that their children are being cared for in a safe, structured and fun environment. We are committed to providing a safe, loving environment for your child and aspire to meet his/her needs while promoting physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
Our programs develop weekly curriculum with age appropriate activities and indoor and outdoor learning experiences. Program highlights include science, music, and movement, and a variety of learning centers as well as an outdoor playground with a play structure, sand/water table, music center with cosmic roof, and tricycle track with pretend gas station and drive-through.
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday: 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Preschool Child Care
Creative Play Preschool
Ages: 3-5 years
The Valley YMCA Creative Play Preschool offers an environment that supports children\'s natural desires and ability to learn. Our philosophy is that a child learns through play. Our teachers will shape your child\'s learning by participating in their play and asking questions that encourage them to think. Learning is also promoted by providing materials and themes that are interesting and challenging. When children are encouraged to explore and discover, their curiosity is heightened and they are motivated to learn more. Our centers of interest include blocks, drama, table toys, art, sand and water, library, music and movement, cooking and playscape. Our program also offers physical education and provides a nutritious snack each day (offering an allergy-aware, peanut-free environment). We have specific goals for the learning of literacy, mathematics, science and social studies that will be achieved as children play in each interest area in the classroom. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
This program takes place at our child care facility, 32 Howard Avenue in Ansonia.

Kindergarten Enrichment Program
Ages: Children in half-day kindergarten.
Combining play with academics, children can learn, grow, and thrive in a safe environment. Before and After School Care is offered for children attending Mead and Prendergast Kindergarten half day programs at our 32 Howard Avenue Child Care Center.
Days & Times: Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 6:30 pm; Hours of care will be set to meet your specific needs.
