Daycare hours: 7am - 6pm.
Our Avon Center is in Riverdale Farms Shopping center, Rt. 10 on the Avon/Simsbury border. It was here that we started in 1986 in the building that currently houses our infant and toddler programs. In 1995 we expanded to the entire first floor of the adjacent building where our preschool programs are currently. In 2001 we took over \"The Barn\", a HUGE building we use for full day kindergarten, school age programs and summer camp. This year we are once again expanding and moving our infants and one year olds into a state of the art facility we\'re constructing in the building that previously was occupied by the Little Gym. In addition we\'re completely remodeling our original building, expanding the classrooms for our 2 year olds, adding indoor playgrounds as well as staff resource areas.

Educational Playcare's Before and After School Program supports the development of children\'s emotional, social, physical and cognitive skills by referring to the five pillars of character: Respect, Trustworthiness, Honesty, Caring, and Self-Expression. It is through the promotion of these core values that children develop skills they will utilize for their entire lives.

Our Before and After School Program provides children with a wide variety of both instructional and self-guided activities. Instructional activities may include outdoor games such as basketball, baseball, dodge-ball and soccer and indoor activities such as board games, cooking projects and science activities. Our program focuses on inclusion in a non-competitive atmosphere with no requirements other than to try your best and have fun in the process! Self-guided activities include comfortable spaces for reading, self-selection of activities and projects and time to talk and share with friends.

Each of our centers provides the opportunity for homework completion with the help of our teaching staff.
